OPPO K15s vs K15x smartphone comparison showing 8,000mAh and 6,500mAh batteries

OPPO K15s vs K15x Price, Specifications, 8,000mAh Battery and Key Differences

By /

The OPPO K15s and OPPO K15x are now officially launched in China, giving buyers two new K-series options focused heavily on battery capacity, 120Hz displays and everyday durability. The two phones, however, are not identical alternatives.

The OPPO K15s is positioned with an 8,000mAh battery, 6.57-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, 50MP rear camera and MediaTek Dimensity 6360 MAX chipset. The more affordable OPPO K15x uses a 6,500mAh battery, larger 6.75-inch HD+ 120Hz LCD display, 13MP rear camera and MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset.

That makes the main comparison straightforward: the K15s puts more emphasis on battery capacity, display quality, camera hardware and higher-end specifications, while the K15x targets a lower price and adds features such as a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Availability note: Both phones are officially launched in China. OPPO has not officially announced an India or wider international launch for the K15s or K15x at the time of publication.

India availability

2. Display Comparison: AMOLED vs LCD

OPPO K15s AMOLED and K15x LCD display comparison with 6.57-inch and 6.75-inch screens

The display is one of the biggest differences between these two phones.

OPPO K15s display

The K15s has:

  • 6.57-inch AMOLED panel
  • 2372 × 1080 resolution
  • FHD+ resolution
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • Up to 1,400 nits peak global brightness
  • High touch-sampling capability

The panel also supports a wide colour gamut, while current reports list an instantaneous touch sampling rate of up to 1,000Hz.

OPPO K15x display

The K15x uses:

  • 6.75-inch LCD panel
  • 1570 × 720 resolution
  • HD+ resolution
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • Up to 1,125 nits brightness
  • Up to 240Hz touch sampling

The difference is therefore not simply about size.

The K15x has the larger physical screen, which can appeal to people who prefer a bigger display for videos, reading and general browsing. However, the K15s has a substantially higher-resolution AMOLED panel.

On paper, the K15s therefore has a display advantage in panel technology and pixel resolution, while the K15x prioritizes screen size. The K15s has roughly 50% more vertical pixels than the K15x’s 720-pixel vertical resolution, despite having a slightly smaller screen.

3. Performance Comparison

The OPPO K15s uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 MAX, while the K15x uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300.

The K15s is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, while the K15x offers up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The K15s therefore has a higher-positioned chipset configuration on the published specifications and offers an additional 8GB RAM configuration. Both phones are designed around 5G connectivity and everyday smartphone workloads.

However, specification differences should not be treated as a substitute for benchmark or real-world testing. Actual gaming performance can vary depending on software optimization, thermal management, game settings and sustained workloads.

4. OPPO K15s 8,000mAh vs K15x 6,500mAh Battery

OPPO K15s and K15x battery comparison showing 8,000mAh vs 6,500mAh capacity

Battery capacity is arguably the most important difference in this comparison.

  • OPPO K15s: 8,000mAh
  • OPPO K15x: 6,500mAh

That means the K15s has: 1,500mAh more battery capacity than the K15x.

Both phones support 45W SuperVOOC charging, with current reports also listing UFCS support. The important point is that battery capacity and battery endurance are not the same thing.

An 8,000mAh phone does not automatically guarantee a particular number of hours or days of usage. Actual battery life depends on:

  • Display brightness
  • Screen resolution
  • Refresh rate
  • Processor efficiency
  • Mobile network conditions
  • 5G usage
  • Gaming
  • Background applications
  • Camera usage
  • Software optimization

The more accurate conclusion is that the K15s has a considerably larger battery reserve on paper, giving it a stronger hardware basis for long endurance.

OPPO also states that the K15s battery is designed for more than 2,000 charge cycles, with at least 80% capacity retention under the company’s stated testing conditions. This is a manufacturer claim rather than an independent GadiAurMobile test.

5. OPPO K15s vs K15x Camera Comparison

OPPO K15s vs K15x camera comparison showing 50MP and 13MP main cameras

The camera hardware is another major difference.

CameraOPPO K15sOPPO K15x
Rear main50MP AF13MP AF
Front8MP5MP
Rear videoUp to 1080p/60fpsUp to 1080p/60fps

The K15s uses a 50MP autofocus rear camera, while the K15x uses a 13MP autofocus rear camera. The K15s also has an 8MP front camera compared with the K15x’s 5MP selfie camera.

The K15s therefore has considerably higher-resolution camera hardware on paper.

That does not automatically mean it will produce better photographs in every situation. Image processing, sensor size, HDR performance, low-light algorithms and software tuning can all affect final image quality.

For that reason, this comparison describes the camera hardware rather than claiming superior real-world photography.

6. Design and Durability

  • The K15s measures approximately 159.08 × 75.81 × 8.80mm and weighs around 205g.
  • The K15x is approximately 166.61 × 78.51 × 8.61mm and weighs around 212g.
  • Interestingly, the K15x is physically larger even though it has the smaller battery.
  • Durability is another significant specification difference.

The K15s is listed with IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 protection, along with 15 environmental tests based on the GJB150A-2009 standard. The K15x has an IP64 rating and uses OPPO’s Diamond Anti-Drop Architecture.

These are manufacturer specifications and controlled-test claims. They should not be interpreted as a guarantee that either phone can safely be exposed to any water, dust, impact or environmental condition.

  • Dual SIM
  • Wi-Fi 5
  • Bluetooth
  • USB Type-C
  • GPS
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Side-mounted fingerprint sensor
  • No NFC

The K15s has NFC, while the K15x does not. Conversely, the K15x retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is absent on the K15s.

For some buyers, these smaller connectivity differences could matter more than headline specifications.

8. OPPO K15s vs K15x: Size and Weight

Height~159.08mm~166.61mm
Width~75.81mm~78.51mm
